"A little bit, yeah." Steph said, crossing her arms. She held that pose for a second before she shrugged, "But, I know where you were coming from so as long as you avoid repeating the incident," Pausing, she gave him a small smile, "I think I will forgive you. Now, what brings you to our fair city?"
He grins, happy to finally have that load off his chest. “Would you believe I’m looking at colleges?” He shrugs.
"Gotham’s not really my scene but my friend Lori’s really set on me at least trying it out… so I’m staying with her a few days."
"Unfortunately her roommate and her are having a little fight over it and…" He shrugs. "I figured I’d let them blow off a little steam while I blew off a little steam.”
"Need any help out here?" He looks around the empty rooftop.

Conner might have skipped breakfast this morning, so the first thing that pops into his head is food. “You like vegetarian pizza and coconut and Chocolate chip cookies, but you don’t eat snacks or anything that’s not nutritious or good for you except when you’re out with your friends—which you always schedule way in advance because you think spending time with people is important to show you care, but you’re also super busy and you have a total hard-on for schedules and efficiency.”
"Sometimes you work so hard you forget to eat altogether. You have trouble sleeping because your brain’s all big and you think about too much stuff, so you meditate or just work out so hard that you crash. You hate sleeping on your side. You have trouble trusting people, and when you do trust people you put them up on a pedestal just so that you can feel let down harder when they finally manage to fuck up."
"You have Daddy issues. Which isn’t the nicest thing to say, but he wasn’t ever really close to you because he worked and stuff and it fucked you up really bad. You don’t trust yourself to be good enough for people, even though you’re smart and funny and attractive and trustworthy and brave.”
"And I never read that in any article, because you’re my best friend, you’ve always been my best friend and I don’t have to.”
"How bad did I fuck up that you’re playing with me like this, dude? I brought flowers.” He frowns. “You’re the one who didn’t show up for our date last night!”
He’s close enough on the mark with several of those that Tim’s frown deepens. Some of those are things he knows he’s never mentioned in press interviews, like his relationship with his dad. True, some of it could just be speculation - but it’s still too close for comfort.
It’s obvious enough from the- from Superboy's expression that he at least believes everything he's saying. It doesn't mean that Tim's convinced. “Look,” he says softly, hands raised slightly in a calming gesture. “I understand this must be…hard on you. I only see a fraction of what Batman Inc. are up to, and it’s enough to understand just how high-stress being a vigila- being a superhero must be. But I think maybe you’ve got things confused in your head.”
He motions for Superboy to take a seat. “I don’t know you. We’ve never met, we aren’t best friends, and we certainly didn’t have a date. I don’t know how you know so much about me… And it’s really sweet that you brought me flowers. But I don’t know you.”
"I, uh." His grip tightens on the flowers. His voice feels choked in his throat. "I should… go. Figure out what’s going on. Sorry." He places the flowers on his desk. "I didn’t mean to… waste your time, Rob?"
"There’s—I’ve—" He swallows, apologizes one more time and heads off, pulling his cell phone out of his pocket. Either Tim’s in trouble, or Tim really doesn’t remember him… Either way he’s going to figure it out.
